Description
A pineapple-scented ester—not a true aldehyde.
Bright pineapple aroma chemical with juicy tropical-fruit, fatty and rum-like nuances. Adds ripe sweetness and sparkling fruity lift to perfumes, apple accords, soap fragrances and selected cosmetic fragrance formulations.
Aldehyde C-19, identified here as Allyl Caproate or Allyl Hexanoate, is a fruity fragrance ingredient recognised for its fresh pineapple character. Chemically an ester rather than an aldehyde, it combines ripe tropical sweetness with fatty, slightly pungent and rum-like nuances. Its bright opening makes it useful for pineapple, apple, peach, apricot and mixed-fruit accords, while smaller additions can modify orange and other fruity perfume compositions. PerfumersWorld classifies it as a top-note material and reports approximately two hours of odour life on a smelling strip. It can be evaluated in perfumes, soaps and selected cosmetic fragrances, but compatibility varies considerably between bases.
